Govt announces free education for secondary level students



KATHMANDU: The government has announced to provide free education for secondary level students.

Unveiling the budget for the fiscal year 2020/21, Finance Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada said that the literate Nepal mission will be announced.

Virtual education, online education and television education will be installed for the upcoming year, he added.

The budget has allocated Rs 6 billion for President Education Sector improvement, Rs 2.70 billion for scholarships, Rs 7.92 billion allocated for 2.8 million students to be benefited from free lunch in all government schools and Rs 10 billion for sanitary pads to be distributed through local levels.
