499 Nepalis enter the country via Birgunj border on Wednesday

738 Indian nationals returned India on Tuesday and Wednesday



BIRGUNJ: Around 499 Nepalis stranded in India due to the prolonged lockdown have entered Nepal via Birgunj border on Wednesday.

The Nepali nationals stuck in Raxaul for quite a long time entered Nepal. This was possible because of the coordination between the administration of both sides.

According to District Administration Office, Parsa, the Nepalis entering via Birgunj border from Wednesday morning till 3 pm are 453 males and 46 females.

Among thousands of people stranded in various border areas of India, as many as 500 were stuck in the Raxaul area till Wednesday. Many of them were living a pathetic condition.

According to Lalit Kumar Basnet, the Assistant Chief District Officer of Parsa, these people will be sent to their respective district quarantines set up under the concerned District Administration Offices.

Assistant CDO Basnet said, meanwhile, 738 Indians willing to return India have been allowed to go back.

The Parsa administration said as many as 388 Indians went back to their country on Tuesday and 350 on Wednesday.
