One killed as NA personnel, smugglers exchange fire in Parsa National Park

BIRGUNJ: A smuggler was killed in an exchange of fire between a gang of smugglers and Nepal Army (NA) personnel deployed at Parsa National Park. The deceased is yet to be identified.

NA Warrant Officer Second Class Min Bahadur Chhantyal has sustained bullet injures in the exchange of fire that took place at around 9 am on Friday morning.

He has been taken to Kathmandu for treatment through a chopper, said Chief Conservation Officer of the National Park Amir Maharjan.

NA also arrested a smuggler identified as Mohan Singh Dong of Makwanpur.

NA personnel recovered two homemade pistols and weapons from the incident site.
