DIGs, district police chiefs asked not to leave districts

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police Headquarters has directed Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) and district chiefs to not leave their districts and provinces.

The police headquarters directed DIGs and district police chiefs to not leave their working areas after receiving a circular from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and taking into consideration the security and law and order situation of the country following the dissolution of the House of Representatives last Sunday.

According to Nepal Police Spokesperson SSP Basant Bahadur Kunwar, the police officials are also asked not to take leave except for urgent purposes.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in the country’s major cities including Kathmandu.
