KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Bhishmaraj Angdembe has urged party leaders to remain united, saying the focus should be on strengthening the party rather than creating divisions.
Speaking at a programme marking the 44th BP Memorial Day organized by the Nepali Congress Bharatpur Metropolitan Committee on Wednesday, Angdembe said a split in the party would be detrimental to both the Congress and the country’s development.
Following a tree plantation programme, he told local journalists that party leaders should work together to preserve unity instead of pursuing division.
“A divided Congress would be a setback for the country’s development. Leaders should unite the party, not split it,” he said.
The programme was attended by Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya, Nepali Congress leader Dr. Kedar Nar Singh KC, Chitwan Congress President Rajeshwor Khanal and other party leaders and cadres.
A tree plantation drive was held at an open ground behind the Guest House in Bharatpur-10 as part of the BP Memorial Day observance.
