Miffed by Deuba’s ‘unilateral moves’, Poudel faction to file protest letter

KATHMANDU: The faction led by Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel is preparing to register a protest letter at the party’s central office demanding to correct the recent decisions related to the ‘impartiality of the General Convention’.

The letter is being registered at the party office on Sunday afternoon as decided by a meeting of NC office-bearers and central members loyal to Poudel on Saturday.

The letter has been signed by 27 people including senior leader Poudel, General Secretary Shashanka Koirala and Treasurer Sita Devi Yadav.

According to sources, attempts were underway to appease former General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula.

For that, senior leader Poudel and leader Sitaula are holding discussions from 9:30 am on Sunday at an undisclosed location.

The Poudel faction has been riled by the recent ‘unilateral’ decision by President Sher Bahadur Deuba. Deuba has made nominations to various departments of the party ahead of the General Convention.
