 Kathmandu Valley introduces new strategy to curb COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Local administrations in the Kathmandu Valley are introducing a new strategy to curb the coronavirus pandemic apart from the prohibitory order.

The forum of 18 municipalities including Kathmandu Metropolitan City has prepared this strategy in consultation with the experts from the Ministry of Health and Population and the Health Service Department.

As many 13 persons who came into contact with an infected person will be tested under this new strategy.

Almost 3,500 people have been infected in the Kathmandu Valley.

Out of them, 13 persons who came into contact with an infected will be tested for the coronavirus. Around 45,000 people will be tested via PCR methods in the coming week.

It is learnt that a team of health experts from the local administrations will test them through contact tracing.

Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiribabu Maharjan said the contact tracing of those who came into contact with the infected has already begun.
