COVID-19: Karnali Province reports 31 fresh cases



KATHMANDU: Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 31 people in Karnali Province in the last 24 hours.

Tests conducted at the Province Hospital/Avian Diseases Investigation Laboratory, Surkhet, Dailekh Hospital and Chaurjahari Municipal Laboratory, Rukum West, confirmed the infection, according to Karnali Province’s Ministry of Social Development.

One person from Surkhet tested positive at Province Hospital/Avian Diseases Investigation Laboratory, Surkhet, 28 from Dailekh at Dailekh Hospital and two from Salyan at Chaurjahari Municipal Laboratory, Rukum West.

With the new cases, total cases in the province have reached 1,910, said Dr. Laxmi Narayan Tiwari, Chief of Health Service Division.

Meanwhile, 14 COVID-19 patients were discharged on Monday.

Three persons were discharged from the Province Hospital, Surkhet, 10 from the Birendranagar Isolation Center and one from the Karnali Institute of Health Sciences, Jumla.

So far, 1,658 have recovered in the province while 226 are undergoing treatment.
