Doctor at Manipal Teaching Hospital tests COVID-19 positive



POKHARA: Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in a doctor working at the Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital on Monday.

The doctor, who is studying in MD First Year at the teaching hospital, was deployed at the medical ward of the hospital.

His swab sample was collated and tested at the laboratory of regional hospital after he developed a fever.

A highly-placed source at the hospital said that the doctor was examining patients before his report arrived.

He has now been brought to the isolation of the regional hospital.

Efforts are being made to sanitize Manipal’s residence and medical ward and monitor those who come in contact with the doctor, said a hospital’s administration source.
