Chinese team scales Mt Everest



KATHMANDU:  A Chinese team of rope fixing climbers has scaled Mt Everest by opening a new climbing route to the top from the northern side.

The team of six reached the summit at around 2:25 pm on Tuesday by fixing ropes above 8,300 meters, a source at the base camp said.

The team members include Tenzing Norbu, Dorjee Tsering, Tashi Gombu, Dunpa, Tsering Norbu and Dorjee.

Meanwhile, as many as 31 climbers, including six surveyors and other climbers will attempt to climb Mt Everest in a couple of days.

China has allowed to climb the world’s highest peak from the Tibet side in the spring season.
