PM instructs to adopt all measures to treat coronavirus patients



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister K P Oli has directed the Ministry of Health and Population to ensure all necessary measures for the treatment of coronavirus-affected patients.

PM Oli instructed Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal and Health Secretary Khagaraj Baral to expedite all necessary preparations to ensure all necessary treatment to the affected people.

In a meeting held at his official residence in Baluwatar today, PM Oli also sought information about the preparations and the number of coronavirus-infected people in the country.

Till Sunday, three coronavirus infection cases have been reported in Kathmandu.

According to the Teku-based Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital in Kathmandu, a male and another female, who returned to Nepal from China are undergoing treatment in the isolation ward in the hospital.

Earlier a youth returning from China was found to be suffering from coronavirus infection.

Meanwhile, the government has assigned five hospitals in Kathmandu for the treatment of patients suffering from coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health and Population has assigned Sukraraj Tropical & Infectious Disease Hospital in Teku, Bir Hospital, Civil Hospital, Patan Hospital and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) after a first case of the deadly virus was confirmed in Nepal.
