Astalaxmi Shakya proposed for Bagmati’s Chief Minister 



KATHMANDU: The lawmakers of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have proposed the name of Astalaxmi Shakya for the Chief Minister of Bagmati Pradesh.

As many as 45 lawmakers of Prachanda-Nepal faction proposed Shakya’s name for the post of Chief Minister of Bagmati Pradesh while registering a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Dormani Paudel.

Meanwhile, they have urged to summon a provincial assembly meeting to this effect in line with Article 183 (3) of the Constitution.

Three ministers of the Bagmati Pradesh Government have resigned from their posts on Friday.

Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Arun Nepal, Minister for Social Development Yuba Raj Dulal and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Shalik Ram Jamarkattel of Prachanda-Nepal faction have resigned from their posts stating that the province government did not live up to people’s expectations.
