KATHMANDU: Visiting Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla called on Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali on Thursday.
At the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussions were held on further enhancing centuries-old Nepal-India bilateral ties.
Meanwhile, India handed over 2000 vials of Remdesivir to Nepal.
Visiting Indian Foreign Secretary Shringla handed over the medical assistance to the Minister Gyawali at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking at the function, Shringla said that India will make the COVID vaccine accessible soon and Nepal would too benefit from it, recalling that India is the major vaccine manufacturer in the world.

Remdesivir medicine is regarded as a broad-spectrum anti-viral medication for treating moderate to severely ill patients on oxygen therapy.
According to medical research, the drug is proven to significantly reduce the duration of hospital stay and also diminish the recovery time of patients.
He added that India looks forward to further strengthen Nepal-India ties.
Earlier today, Shringla led Nepal-India foreign secretary-level meeting at Hotel Yak and Yeti at Durbar Marg in the Capital.
Talking to Khabarhub after the meeting Shringla remarked that the meeting was a productive and useful exchange.

“The way a large number of issues of bilateral cooperation we went through it shows comprehensive and multi-facet nature of our cooperation,” he said, “It was agreed on various steps to advance some of the areas of cooperation. Various good progress in the commitment made by the leadership.”
He will visit Gorkha tomorrow to inaugurate a school building built by Indian Embassy. This is the first visit of the Foreign Secretary to Nepal since he assumed the charge.
The visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two neighbors and the priority India attaches to its relations with Nepal, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in its statement.

Shringla’s visit comes after two back-to-back high-level visits from new Delhi by Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane (November) and Research and Analysis Wing head Samant Goel (October).
Shringla will return home after wrapping up his two-day official visit to Nepal on Friday.
