KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has directed the government to make a separate act to implement proportional inclusion in practice.
Today’s meeting of the committee has directed to bring a separate act for the practical implementation of proportional inclusion envisaged in the constitution and also as a fundamental right.
The committee has also directed to fill the constitutional bodies’ positions.
Stating that the constitution cannot be implemented until the constitutional bodies are constitutional bodies’ positions, Committee Chairman Karna directed to fill the positions immediately.
Although Prime Minister KP Oli was invited to today’s meeting, he did not attend.
Chairman Karna said that Prime Minister Oli could not attend the meeting due to lack of time. Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali represented the Prime Minister.
He said that Prime Minister Oli had been invited to the next meeting.
Prime Minister Oli was invited to the meeting to discuss the inclusion of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, judges, heads or office bearers of constitutional bodies, members of the Judicial Council and ambassadors when recommending appointments.
