Two bodies among three missing in Trishuli River retrieved



CHITWAN: Two bodies among three people who went missing after a pick-up van plunged into the Trishui River have been retrieved.

The bodies of driver Surya KC and a passenger Jamuna Rokka  were retrieved from the van, said the rescue team on the site.

Three people have gone missing after a pick-up van veered off the road and plunged into the Trishuli River at Ichchhakamana rural municipality-4, in Chitwan district on Thursday morning.

The accident took place after the pick-up van, Lu 1 Cha 9731, heading to Kathmandu ferrying a patient from Pyuthan plunged some 60 meters down the road into the Trishuli River, said District Police Office (DPO), Chitwan.

Four people including two women were traveling in the van. One man managed to save his life by swimming ashore and is undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College.

While the rest three are still missing, said DPO, Chitwan.

Police said a joint rescue team from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force is searching the missing people.
