Protest in Surkhet demanding resignation of Foreign Minister Gyawali

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Ekta Samaj has staged a demonstration in Surkhet demanding the resignation of Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali.

Stating that the explanation of Foreign Minister Gyawali that China has not encroached Nepal’s land was highly objectionable and reprehensible, the Samaj demanded his resignation.

During the demonstration, the participants called for an end to border encroachment chanting slogans— ‘Go Back China’ among others.

Police arrested two protestors during the demonstration.

According to the Central Coordinator of the Samaj, Vinay Yadav, the police have arrested Lekhak Gautam and Pravesh Sunuwar.

He said, “Even the peaceful movement has been suppressed by the police. This is completely wrong. If our campaigners are not released immediately, we will be forced to agitate sternly.”
