37-year-old succumbs to coronavirus in Banke



BANKE: A man infected with coronavirus and receiving treatment at the Kohalpur-based Teaching Hospital, Banke has died this morning.

With this, the number of coronavirus-related deaths in Banke district has reached 5.

He was admitted to the Teaching Hospital Nepalgunj after diagnosed with pneumonia in both the lungs and breathed his last while undergoing treatment, said Corona Resource Person of the Health Office, Naresh Shrestha.

The person was admitted to the Teaching Hospital of Nepalgunj Medical College on August 24 after he complained of breathing.

He had tested positive for coronavirus yesterday afternoon. He died at 10.30 pm last night while receiving treatment on ventilator support, Shrestha added.

Banke’s Chief District Officer Ram Bahadur Kurumwang shared preparation on the management of dead body was underway in coordination with the family members of the deceased and Nepal Army.

Earlier, a 25-year-old youth of Narainapur rural municipality-5, a 46-year-old woman of Baijanath rural municipality-6, a 70-year-old woman of Kohalpur municipality-2 and a 62-year-old man of Nepalgunj-5 have already lost their lives to the coronavirus.
