Home Ministry reissues instruction making masks compulsory



KATHMANDU: The Home Ministry has re-issued an instruction to all administration offices of the 77 districts in the country to take action against people leaving their houses without wearing masks.

According to Uma Kanta Adhikari, the Communication Officer with the Ministry, the instruction has been issued as people are seen wandering around without wearing masks despite high risk of coronavirus spread.

Adhikari said that people defying the Ministry’s instruction will be punished as per the Infectious Disease Act 1964.

It should be noted that the Home Ministry had on July 6 issued an instruction to the Nepal Police headquarters to arrest people going out of the house without wearing masks.
