Nepal’s coronavirus count reaches 18,613 with 130 new cases

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population on Sunday confirmed 130 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing this afternoon, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that the national tally has reached 18,613 with the new cases.

The new cases were detected in Kathmandu, Nuwakot, Parsa, Nawalparasi (east), Rautahat, Makwanpur, Bara, Kaski, Gorkha, Rupandehi, Argakhanchi, Banke, Bardiya, Jumla, Rolpa, Dailekh, Surkhet, Achcham, Bajura and Kanchanpur, Jhapa, Morang, Illam, Siraha, Sunsari, udayapur, Terhathum, Dhanusa, Mahottari, Dang.

Nepal has so far 5,440 active cases.

In the last 24 hours, 4,075 samples have been tested through PCR, said Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam.

At present, 5,440 people are in isolation and 17,903 are in quarantines across the country.

Nepal has reported 45 deaths so far, Spokesperson Dr. Gautam said.

Meanwhile, 75 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from different hospitals in the last 24 hours after recovering from the virus. With this, 13,128 have been discharged across the country so far.
