US Ambassador Berry pays courtesy call on Deputy PM Pokhrel



KATHMANDU: U.S. Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry on Sunday met with Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwor Pokhrel at the latter’s Ministry in Singha Durbar.

During the meeting, Ambassador Berry reiterated the commitment to a continued partnership with the people and the government of Nepal and assured of support in the COVID-10 pandemic.

He also expressed of partnership to ensuring a democratic, prosperous, and stable Nepal. Issues related to bilateral relations were also discussed on the occasion.

On the occasion, Ambassador Berry also raised the issue of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), which has been undecided yet due to the conflict within the leaders of the ruling Nepal Communist Party.

Deputy Prime Minister Pokhrel thanked the US government and the people for their continued support to Nepal.
