Lockdown leaves 11 trekkers stranded on Manaslu circuit

KATHMANDU: Eleven trekkers have been stranded along Manaslu Circuit Trek in the Himalayan region of Nepal following the lockdown enforced by the government.

Talking to Khabarhub, Simbir Ghale, media coordinator of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal, said that 11 trekkers (six foreigners and five Nepalis) have been stranded along Manaslu circuit.

“No sooner they reached Manchha Khola of Manaslu Circuit Trek than the country went into the lockdown leaving them stranded, said Ghale, adding, “A coordination to rescue them is underway at the local level.”

It is a 14-day trek that starts at Soti Khola and ends at Beshi Sahar in Lamjung district.

Likewise, over three tourists have been stranded in Everest Region after the government announced lockdown on Tuesday.
