7 among those rescued street children die



KATHMANDU: Seven among those street children rescued from the streets have died.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) had started rescuing the street children from December 15 last year.

The metropolis has rescued 749 street children so far. Of them 588 have been handed over to their respective families.

According to Ramji Adhikari, chairman of Manab Sewa Ashram, 696 street children were rescued from Kathmandu metropolis while 53 were picked from other metropolitan cites.

Among those rescued, 73 originally hail from KMC, 45 have been admitted to a hospital, 70 are yet to be screened, 51 have been transferred to the Ashram while seven have died, informed Adhikari.
