Oli, Dahal and Deuba agree on consensus in state affairs

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba held discussions in relation to the contemporary political situation of the country.

In the consultations held this morning at the Prime Minister’s residence at Baluwatar, the three leaders agreed to move ahead on the basis of common consensus and collaboration while running the affairs of the nation, deputy leader of the NCP parliamentary party Subas Nembang, who was also present during the meeting, said.

Nembang said the Prime Minister held the meeting with the main opposition party leader, Deuba, as several issues have to be discussed together with the main opposition while running the state affairs.

“Common consensus is needed between the ruling and the opposition sides while running the state affairs, and this discussion is for seeking this consensus,” Nembang said, adding that the leaders have agreed to carry out works from running the parliament to making political appointment on the basis of consensus.

PM Oli had held consultations with the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, before this while appointing the office-bearers of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP).
