Prohibitory order in Bardibas as protestor dies in police firing



KATHMANDU: District Administration Office (DAO), Mahottari has issued a prohibitory order to preempt untoward incidents after one more person injured in the police firing died.

The prohibitory order will remain effective from 9 am today until 6 am Thursday, said Chief District Officer of Mahottari Krishna Bahadur Katwal.

The injunction has been imposed in Ratukhola in the east to Bardibas Maisthan in the west and Bardibas 3, Patu in the north to Ramananda Chowk in the south, according to Adhikari.

Buddhi Raj Neupane, who sustained injuries in the police firing in Baridibas, has died.

Neupane, who was airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment, breathed his last in the course of treatment at Grande International Hospital, informed SSP Kuber Kadayat, the spokesperson of the police.

Neupane, 42, from Bardibas municipality-1, had sustained a bullet injury to his leg after security personnel used force to control the demonstration staged to protest the murder-after-rape of a six-year-old girl Gulbasa Khatun.

As many as 15 police personnel sustained injuries in the clash with the demonstrators.

The Bardibas has remained tense after a six-year-old Gulabsa Khatun of Bardibas municipality-14, who disappeared on Sunday evening, was found dead in a bush nearby her house on Monday evening.
