Two die of suffocation inside a well



MAKWANPUR: Two persons have died of suffocation inside a well at Shah Party Palace at Manahari Rural Municipality-7 in Makwanpur district on Friday.

They had gone into the well to repair a water pump. A team of Nepali Army has retrieved the bodies from the well, the District Police Office Makwanpur said.

According to the police, the hotel operator’s son, 30-year-old Suraj Saha, had got into the well at 9 am for repairing the water pump. After Saha failed to come out of the well, 16-year-old Utsav Nepali went into the well to check out.

After both failed to come out even after long, a local Ananda got into the well with the help of a rope. He fell unconscious after reaching up to the middle part of the well.

It was at this point that the hotel operator informed the police of the incident.

The Nepali Army team immediately reached the place and found two dead bodies in the well. The army team rescued Ananda who was sent to the CMC Hospital at Bharatpur.

The bodies of Saha and Nepali have been brought to Hetauda Hospital for post-mortem, police said.
