Bara reports two new COVID-19 deaths

BARA: Two men from the district died of the coronavirus while undergoing treatment at the Birgunj-based Gandak COVID Hospital on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as a 72-year-old man from Parashurampur in Suvarna Rural Municipality and a 59-year-old man from Dahiartol of Mahagadhimai Municipality.

The 72-year-old man died while undergoing treatment at around 6:30 am this morning. He was admitted to the hospital on Monday after his health condition worsened.

Likewise, the 59-year-old breathed his last at around 10 am this morning. He was admitted to the hospital on Friday.

With deaths, Nepal’s death toll from the coronavirus has reached 166. However, the Ministry of Health and Population is yet to officially confirm the deaths.

Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll had reached 164 on Tuesday afternoon after seven more fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing this afternoon, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health Dr. Jageshwor Gautam had said that one woman from Kathmandu and one man each from Siraha, Parsa, Dhanusha and Rupandehi and two men from Kathmandu have died of the coronavirus.

Nepal confirmed 855 new cases in the last 24 hours that took the national tally to 33,533.
