Province government committed to relocate landslide victims: CM Poudel



KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Dormani Poudel, has said that the Province government was committed to rehabilitating the landslide victims of Sidhuplachowk district.

Chief Minister Poudel said so during a discussion held among stakeholders for disaster management organized at coordination of Speaker of the House of Representatives, Agni Prasad Sapkota, at Singha Durbar, according to the Secretariat of CM Poudel.

On the occasion, CM Poudel said that he visited landslide-hit Lidi of Jugal rural municipality-2 and the situation of this area is very painful. Saying there was no alternative to shift the settlement of the area to a safer place, he clarified that coordination and collaboration of federal government and local government along with Province government was necessary for the same, said Anup Poudel, Chief Personal Secretary of CM Poudel.

The Chief Minister shared that it was necessary to pay attention to the arrangement of employment in course relocating the settlement.

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Finance Minister Yubraj Khatiwada, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basanta Kumar Nembang, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Bagmati Province government, Arun Nepal, among others were present on the occasion held on Sunday.
