Bringing private sector under CIAA’s purview irrational: RPP

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has termed the government’s attempt to create ‘an atmosphere of terror’ on the private sector as irrational and wrong.

In a joint statement, the three chairpersons said that the proposal of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to take action against the private sector in times of crisis in the country’s economy was wrong.

“Today, the country is in the throes of a major economic crisis and unemployment. In such a scenario, the government’s strategy should be to tackle the crisis by boosting the morale of the private sector,” the statement said.

RPP has expressed its disagreement saying that the new bill on the jurisdiction of CIAA has proposed a provision for the authority to take action against the private sector.

RPP is of the view that the bill with the said provision should not be moved forward immediately.
