11 new coronavirus cases in Gandaki Pradesh, tally hits 753

KATHMANDU: The number of coronavirus cases in Gandaki Pradesh has surged to 753 after 11 new cases were confirmed on Thursday morning.

According a press note issued by Dr Binod Bindu Sharma, the Spokesperson for COVID-19 Control and Prevention of Gandaki Pradesh, six among 11 confirmed cases are from Myagdi, three from Syangja and two from Nawalparasi East.

The new cases were confirmed during test at Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences and Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Hetauda.

Sharma said the infected from Nawalparasi East have already been kept in isolation while the preparations are underway to keep others in isolation wards of their respective districts.

Meanwhile, a COVID-19 patient died of coronavirus in Pokhara.  According to Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, a 55-year-old man, who was suffering from pneumonia, diabetes and mellitus –II, succumbed to the pandemic on Wednesday night.

With this, the number of deaths from coronavirus has reached two in Gandaki Pradesh.

Earlier, a man of Syangja had died from the deadly virus.
