114 people commit suicide in Sudhurpaschim Province in two months



DHANGADHI: As many as 114 people have committed suicide in the Sudhurpaschim Province in the last two months since the government enforced the nationwide lockdown to control the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Provincial Police Office, while 91 of them committed suicide by hanging, 19 took poison while four jumped off the cliffs and rivers.

The police office said a total of 113 people had committed suicide in this period last year.

Last fiscal year, the Sudhurpaschim Province recorded 475 suicide cases.
