Malaysian national dies of altitude sickness in Nepal

MUSTANG: A Malaysian national died in the district on Sunday of altitude sickness.

According to Police Inspector Binod Poudel at District Police Office Mustang, 62-year-old Raja Lingam Thenchathamdi holding passport number 40829026 died while returning from Muktinath.

The Malaysian national who had reached Muktinath along with his wife and relatives fell unconscious near a helipad at around 10 am.

He was rushed to Jomsom Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The dead body has been taken to the Kathmandu-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for postmortem.
