RUPANDEHI: Finance Minister and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) General Secretary Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that the future of the NCP has come across a difficult turn.

Speaking at a press meet organized by Press Association, Rupandehi, in Butwal this evening, he said the NCP had never before experienced a problem of this stature.

Stating that the future of NCP was associated with the future of the country and people, General Secretary Poudel said there was hence no alternative to preserve the party’s unity by addressing the current dispute. He however said debate on the dispute should be held as per the party’s policy and procedures, without resorting to mudslinging.

General Secretary Poudel expressed the belief that the dispute in the party would be resolved with a decision to implement the proposals and decisions taken by the task force formed earlier to address differences in the party.

In response to a query, Finance Minister Poudel shared that the Prime Minister had met the leader of main opposition party to discuss on appointments to the constitutional bodies, and not about power sharing.

In his first visit to his home town after being appointed the Finance Minister, Poudel pledged to develop Rupandehi as a centre of finance and tourism in the country. Shifting of the provincial capital will not have any impact on Rupandehi as the development activities will continue to be implemented.
