CCMC decides to resume flights to all countries

KATHMANDU: The COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) has decided to allow flights to all countries after assessing the risk of coronavirus infection.

A meeting of the CCMC Direction Committee held on Tuesday decided to allow flights to other countries as per the need besides the countries that have been already approved for flights.

After assessing the risk of the infection, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation will allow regular flights to other countries as per the need, said Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister & Council of Ministers Mahendra Prasad Guragain.

In a separate context, the CCMC has also instructed not close services of government offices as the tendency in government offices to shut down all services as soon as one or two employees are found to be infected has been growing.

Stating that the risk of infection has been increasing in the Kathmandu Valley recently, the Kathmandu Valley Mayor’s Forum had recommended a strict lockdown.

However, the CCMC has not yet decided on the issue.
