KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged all not to mistreat the health workers involved in the prevention and treatment of coronavirus infection.

Issuing a statement on Monday, the commission has objected to the threats and inhumane treatment of health workers in Kathmandu, Chitwan and other places.

The commission has also requested assistance and encouragement to health workers, security personnel and emergency service providers in times of crisis.

The constitutional human rights body stated that one should be aware of the situation that could have a negative impact on public health due to mistreatment and inhumane acts.

NHRC has demanded to investigate such incidents and take legal action against the culprits.
