32 including five captives contract COVID-19 in Birgunj

KATHMANDU:  As many as 32 people including five captives have tested positive for coronavirus in Birgunj.

Four among those five captives infected with coronavirus are Indian nationals. The new cases were confirmed during PCR tests at Narayani Sub Regional Hospital on Thursday.

The captives aged 25, 22, 33, 22 and 47 doing time in the custody of Ward Police Office, Shreepur were diagnosed with the virus, said Madan Kumar Upadhyaya, the superintendent of Narayani Sub Regional Hospital.

Four among those infected are Indian nationals.

Three of them are from Bihar State of India while the other is from Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, medical persons working at different hospitals and patients have tested positive for coronavirus in Birgunj.
