Biratnagar Hospital accused of hiding identity of infected

MORANG: Biratnagar Hospital has been sealed after coronavirus infections were found in hospital administrators and doctors.

According to Public Health Division Chief Ramesh Karki, patients and patient attendants have been barred from coming out of the hospital.

He further said the preparations are underway to conduct contact tracing of the infected including doctors and patients.

A sixty-five-year-old founder doctor was diagnosed with the coronavirus after his swab report came out positive on Tuesday.

It took around 40 hours for Biratnagar Metropolis to identify the infected person as the doctor had given the wrong details including his name, address and mobile number.

His swab had been collected at Biratnagar Hospital and taken to Koshi Zonal Hospital for screening.
