NSU burns TU Vice Chancellor’s chair

KATHMANDU: Students affiliated to the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC), Nepal Students Union, today burnt the chair of Tribhuvan University (TU) Vice-Chancellor Dharma Kanta Baskota.

The students took out Baskota’s chair on the road and burned it into ashes.

They also padlocked the offices of the VC, Rector, and the Registrar.

The students claimed that they were compelled to burn the chair as the authorities misbehaved while padlocking the offices.

The NSU is unhappy with the appointments of university officials saying that they were affiliated the ruling Nepal Communist Party.
