Nepali youth dies in Indian quarantine in Nautanwa

SYANGJA: A youth from Harinash-2, Chisapani has died in an Indian quarantine set up in Nautanwa, India.

According to Sub Division Magistrate of Nautawnwa, Jashdhir Singh, a 32-year-old youth of Harinash-2, Chisapani, Syangja who had been to India for a job died in a quarantine set up in Rajiv Gandhi PG college’s canteen.

Khim Narayan Manandhar, the Mayor of Harinas Rural Municipality Syangja also shared that he has got the news about the death of one of the residents of Chisapani and is trying to establish a connection for further details.

According to sources, the youth had arrived in Nautanwa on May 18 and was living in the quarantine set up in Rajiv Gandhi PG College.

The quarantine sources claim that he was taken to hospital for treatment, however, the relatives are skeptic about the care over there.

The youth had arrived at Nautanwa from Aligarh covering the distance of more than 750 KM on foot.

The youth had to join the Nautanwa based quarantine when he was not allowed to enter Nepal from Rupandehi’s Belahiya post.

There are 139 Nepalis in the Nautanwa quarantine.
