Over 6,900 Nepalis infected with COVID-19 in Qatar



KATHMANDU: As many as 6,911 Nepalis have tested positive in Qatar where one has succumbed death due to COVID-19.

So far over 35,631 have infected with the pandemic virus in Qatar.

According to the data, Nepalis are in second place after Indians in the number of infected people. A total of 11,018 Indians infected with the virus, as per the May 19 report.

According to the report, the age of infections is between 19-40 years. Around 43% of migrants workers have been detected positive in Qatar.

Narad Nath Bharadwaj, Ambassador of Nepal to Qatar said that Qatar is treating Nepalis in a way similar to its citizens. So, there is no discrimination, he added.
