32 COVID-19 cases found in six districts including Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Thirty two new cases of novel coronavirus infection have been detected today. With this, the number of COVID-19 infected people in the country has reached 548.

Assistant spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, said the infection was found in 30 people including two women in course of tests carried out at the National Public Health Laboratory Kathmandu, the Province Public Health Laboratory Bhairahawa and Bharatpur Hospital COVID-19 Laboratory Bharatpur.

According to him, among the infected people eight are from Kapilbastu district, 13 are from Sarlahi, eight are from Ruapandehi and one each from Bra, Chitwan and Kathmandu districts. Among the infected people in Kapilbastu, seven are males aged between 17 and 42 years and a 27-year-old woman of Banganga municipality.

All the 13 infected people from Sarlahi are males between 18 and 35 years from Godaitakabilasi municipality of the district. The infected person from Bara is a 37-year-old woman from Karaiyamai rural municipality.

Similarly, among the new cases is a 35-year-old man from Kathmandu, eight males between 20 to 55 years from Gaidahawa and Rohini rural municipalities of Rupandehi district and a 52-year-old man from Bharatpur Metropolitan City-6 in Chitwan district.

Fifty nine new cases were found on Friday alone. So far, 70 COVID-19 patients have returned home after recovery.

Dr Adhikari said the health condition of all the infected people is normal and they are under the observation of health workers.
