Kumari Trust hands over medical equipment to various hospitals in Karnali

KATHMANDU: The Kumari Trust Kathmandu has handed over medical equipment worth Rs 10 million to the 10 district hospitals, including the Karnali Province Hospital, of Karnali State.

Trust president and former lawmaker Rajeev Bikram Shah handed over the medical supplies to Director of the Province Hospital, Dr Dambar Khadka, here on Friday.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi lauded the Trust for the support provided at a time of need during COVID-19 pandemic. He also expressed gratitude for the support.

Stating that around 80 thousand people from the State were still in India and among them 25 thousand have returned or were in the process of returning home, he underscored the need of unity and support from all sides for stemming the risk of coronavirus.

Shah said the amount for the purchase of the medical equipment was donated by Maya Rana, daughter of late Prabhakar Rana, to be used in philanthropic works. He added that medical equipment worth seven million rupees have been provided to the Province Hospital while medical supplies worth Rs 300 thousand each has been provided to the 10 district hospitals of the State.
