Nepal’s coronavirus tally hits 548 with 32 new cases

KATHMANDU: The number cases of coronavirus in Nepal has reached 548 with the addition of 32 new cases on Saturday morning, the Ministry of Health and Population said.

In a statement, Joint Spokesperson Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari said that new cases have been reported in Chitwan, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Kathmandu, Bara and Sarlahi districts.

Among those infected are 30 men and two are women.

According to Joint Spokesperson Dr. Adhikari, eight people including one woman of Banganga municipality, Kapilvastu, 13 men of Godaita, Kabilasi municipality of Sarlahi and one woman of Karaiyamai rural municipality, Bara have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Similarly, those confirmed new cases are eight men from Gadhawa and Rohini rural municipalities of Rupandehi and a 52-year-old man from Baratpur Metropolitan City-6, Chitwan, and 35-year-old man from Kathmandu.

The new cases were confirmed during tests at Nepal Public Health Laboratory, Kathmandu, Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Bhairahawa and Bharatpur Hospital COVID-19 Laboratory, Chitwan.

Currently, 478 Coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 70 have returned home after recovery.

Three persons have died so far from COVID-19 in Nepal.
