PM Oli and Chairman Dahal discuss current political scenario

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli and Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal today met and discussed the current political scenario.

The one-hour discussion held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar basically focused on the merger between the Rastriya Janata Party and the Samajbadi Party, Baluwatar sources said.

The ruling NCP is caught in a quagmire after PM Oli brought an ordinance. As many as 20 standing committee members have demanded a meeting of the committee to thrash out the confusion.

They have already sent a letter to Chairmen Oli and Dahal to convene the meeting of the standing committee at the earliest.

Meanwhile, PM Oli has postponed today’s scheduled meeting with the party lawmakers saying that he would remain busy with other internal affairs of the party.
