Confirmed Coronavirus cases hit 45, seven recover in Nepal (with list)

KATHMANDU: With Coronavirus wreaking havoc across the world, the deadly virus has not spared Nepal, too. A total of 45 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Nepal until Wednesday evening.

But a good thing is that no one has died from the novel virus in Nepal so far.

Seven among those infected with the deadly have recovered after treatment. Those recovered from the deadly virus include two from Dhangadhi, a woman each from Baglung and Kathmandu and a man who was first diagnosed with the novel virus.

A youth of Dhangadhi returned home after recovery on Tuesday. Another youth from the same district recovered on last Sunday a 65-year-old woman of Baglung recovered on last Saturday and Prasiddhi Nepal of Kathmandu, who underwent treatment at Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Teku, recovered on Saturday.

Similarly, a 40-year-old man was discharged from Seti Provincial Hospital, Kailali, whereas another 32-year-old was discharged from Teku-based Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital in Kathmandu.

The number of infection cases has surged to 45 after three new cases were reported on Wednesday. Currently, 27 people infected with COVID-19 are undergoing treatment at Koshi Zonal Hospital in Biratnagar.

Four are undergoing treatment at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj, two at Seti Provincial Hospital, two each at Patan Hospital and Bharatpur Hospital, one at Dhaulagiri Hospital.

Details of confirmed Coronavirus infection cases in Nepal

  1. A youth returned from China was first diagnosed with COVID1-9 in Nepal on January 23. He has been discharged.
  2. A 19-year-old girl returned from France was diagnosed with the novel virus on March 22. She recovered and was discharged on April 18.
  3. A 32-year-old youth who had returned from the UAE was diagnosed with the novel virus on March 25.
  4. A 34-year-old youth returned from the UAE tested positive for Coronavirus on March 27.
  5. A 19-year-old girl returned from Belgium was diagnosed with the novel virus on March 28.
  6. A woman, 65, of Baglung who returned to Nepal from France via Qatar tested positive for the novel virus on April 2. She recovered and was discharged from the Dhaulagiri Hospital on April 18.
  7. An India (Mumbai)-returnee 21-year-old youth of Kailali was diagnosed with the novel virus on April. He was discharged from Seti Provincial Hospital on April 19.
  8. An India (Uttarakhanda)-returnee 41-year-old man was diagnosed with the novel virus on April 4. He was discharged from Seti Provincial  Hospital on April 21.
  9. A 34-year-old woman of Kailali (who had been infected with the novel virus after she came into contact with her kin infected with the virus) was diagnosed on April 4.
  10. An Indian national, 37, who had been staying at a mosque based at Chhapkaiya in Birgunj was diagnosed with the virus on April 11.
  11. An Indian national, 55, who had been staying at a mosque of Chhapkaiya in Birgunj was diagnosed with the novel virus on April 11.
  12. An Indian national, 44, who had been staying at Chhapkaiya in Birgunj was diagnosed on April 11.
  13. A 19-year-old youth of Rautahat was diagnosed on April 13.
  14. A 65-year-old woman was diagnosed on April 13 at Lamkichuwa Municipality.
  15. A 58-year-old man residing at SunCity in Pepsikola was diagnosed on April 14. He had returned home from Britain.
  16. A 81-year-old woman residing at SunCity in Pepsikola was diagnosed with the novel virus on April 14. She had returned from Britain.
  17. An Indian national, 34, who had been staying at Nuri Mosque in Bhulke in Triyuga Municipality-3 was diagnosed on April 17.
  18. An Indian national,29, who had been staying at Nuri Mosque in Bhulke in Triyuga Municipality was diagnosed on April 17.
  19. An Indian national,26, who had been staying at Nuri Mosque in Bhulke in Triyuga Municipality was diagnosed on April 17.

  30. A 63-year-old woman of Rapti Municipality of Chitwan was diagnosed on April 17. She had returned to Nepal from Britain via Hong Kong with son.
  31. A 65-year-old man who had been staying at Nuri Mosque in Triyuga Municipality-3 in Udayapur was diagnosed on April 18. He is undergoing treatment at Koshi Zonal Hospital in Biratnagar.
  32. An 18-year-old man who came into contact with a man infected at Nuri Mosque in Bhulke in Triyuga Municipality was diagnosed on April 21.
