Complaint at CIAA seeking investigation against ex-Minister Baskota, PM Oli

KATHMANDU: A complaint has been lodged at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) against former Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Baskota.

Campaigners Bijayababu Siwakoti and Pritam Subedi filed the complaint at the anti-graft body demanding an investigation against the former Minister after an audio of him demanding commission was leaked.

The audio of Baskota bargaining for Rs 700 million in bribe over the procurement of security printing press for the government has created a buzz. Minister Baskota has already resigned.

The complaint has requested CIAA to carry out an investigation to file a graft case against him demanding a jail term of 10 years as per the Corruption Control Act.

Complainants have also demanded an investigation against Prime Minister KP Oli.
