PM Oli celebrates birthday in Baluwatar



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli celebrated his 69th birthday at his official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday morning.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwor Pokharel, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Parliamentary Party Deputy Leader Subas Nembang, former Home Secretary Prem Rai and Nepali Congress leader Sita Gurung among others reached Baluwatar to wished PM on his birthday.

PM Oli, flanked by his father and wife, cut a cake to celebrate his birthday.

PM Oli is scheduled to celebrate his birthday formally at his birthplace at Iwa of Aathrai Rural Municipality in Tehrathum district today.

All necessary preparations by NCP, people’s representatives and district security teams are made to welcome PM who will come by helicopter.

A birthday ceremony will be held at PM’S ancestral home located at Iwa of Aathrai Rural Municipality of the district. PM Oli was born on 23 February 1952.

Later in his adolescent days, his family migrated to Jhapa in 1967. PM Oli repurchased his ancestral home along with 30 ropanis of surrounding land in October 2015 from the then owner of the property Khagendra Tamang.

The rural municipality has announced a public holiday on PM’s birthday.
