NCP row and ‘split’ divides lawmaker couple into two camps



KATHMANDU: While two factions of ruling Nepal Communist Party(NCP) are muscle racing to get a stronger hold in the party the lawmaker couple from Madheh Raghu Bir Mahaseth and Julie Mahato are seen in two opposite camps of the party.

According to NCP sources, influential Madhesi leader of NCP and former Minister Raghu Bir Mahaseth has shown himself in the meeting of the faction led by Prachanda-Madhav Nepal group whereas his wife Julie Mahato is seen in KP Oli’s gathering at Baluwatar.

Mahaseth is a Member of House of Representatives elected from Dhanusha 4, whereas his wife Mahato was picked as lawmaker by the party.

Julie Mahato attended PM Oli led group meeting on Monday and Tuesday whereas Mahaseth went to NCP Executive Chairman’s faction in Babarmahal today.
