JUMLA: The District Disaster Management Committee Jumla has decided to build a well-equipped hospital in the district for treatment of COVID-19.

A meeting of the Committee presided over by Chief District Officer Bhupendra Thapa took a decision to this effect.

The decision to construct a separate hospital was made as there was only Karnali Academy of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital in Jumla for the treatment of patients of all other diseases, Assistant Chief District Officer Om Prakash Devkota said.

As decided, the new hospital would be built in the Infrastructure Development Office, Jumla, Devkota shared.

Likewise, ambulance service has also been managed to rush the COVID-19 patients to the hospital and the seven different local levels of Jumla would pay in fare for the ambulances.

The tally of coronavirus infected in Jumla district reached 404 and a total of 371 of them returned home after complete recovery from the virus, the District Administration Office said. RSS
