KATHMANDU: Prince Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain returned home on Friday after successfully climbing Mount Manalsu and Mount Lobuche.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai bade farewell to the Prince at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Prince Khalifa remarked that he was fascinated by the natural beauty of Nepal.
A team including the Prince of Bahrain scaled the 8,163-meter-high Mount Manaslu at 6:10 am on October 15.
Likewise, the team climbed the 6,119-meter-high Mt Lobuche at 8:50 on October 3 in the second ascent of the season.
The Prince of Bahrain along with his team members — 15 Bahrainis and three British nationals — had arrived in Kathmandu on September 16 to scale the mountains.
Nepal’s Sherpa climbers and guides including Mingma Sherpa, Tashi Lakpa Sherpa and 50 other Sherpas had assisted the team in climbing Mt. Manaslu.
The successful climb of Mt Lobuche was the first ascent of the season. The team had stayed in Nepal for about two months before they climbed the peaks.
