COVID-19 transmission rate rises in Nepal; 100 per thousand test positive



KATHMANDU: If the latest data is to be considered, the coronavirus transmission ratio in Nepal has risen significantly.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal saw 100 cases in per thousand in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at the regular coronavirus update, Prof. Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, the spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population informed that out of 8,026 PCR tests carried out in the last 24 hours, 818 reports turned out coronavirus positive.

The ratio, as noticed in this period, is a 100 per thousand tests.

Similarly, Saturday saw 634 cases while carrying out tests on 12,519 people whereas 838 swabs had come out with coronavirus positive result when 13,579 samples were tested on Friday.

Nepal has seen 31,935 COVID-19 cases of coronavirus as of August 23.
